Metal Halide bulbs generate 75 lumens per watt. A 150 watt Metal Halide bulb provides 4 to 5 times the lumen output when compared to a 150 watt quartz halogen bulb.
Metal Halide bulbs last 7 times longer than quartz halogen bulbs and even though the initial cost is higher, Metal Halides have a lower total operating cost over the life of the bulb.
The output light from a Metal Halide bulb is closer to natural sunlight than most other light sources. This white light is preferred because it provides better visual acuity and it provides 4 to 5 times more light than quartz halogen bulbs.
